Please be aware that a probation or even a deferred adjudication for family violence may make the arrested
person subject to deportation if that person is not a citizen. Consider that carefully in conjunction
with the Tarrant County "NO DROP" policy. You should not allow anyone to be violent to you, but once the police are
involved, they will almost always arrest someone (or some many) and if the arrested person is not a citizen
(even if they are a long term resident), they (and consequently the family) may face serious immigration consequences which
you never thought possible. If you or someone who provides support for your children has been arrested
for family violence, they need the advice of qualified counsel immediately!
